The success of the Viet-nam stock exchange attests to the strength of the firms listed and the probability of the long-term viability of the exchange and its part-icipants. With limited fore-ign ownership in Vietnam-ese securities, the primary driver for the stock excha-nge has been generated by local interest.

The firms listed on the exchange maintain stringent listing requirements that are monitored by the the SSC (State Securities Com-mission). Rules governing auditing to internal auditing requirements are currently being developed.

Investment Portfolio

Kamm Investment Holdings Inc., the first US- based investment management company to own stocks in a Vietnamese firm listed on the stock exchange, has been an active advocate of the Vietnam stock market since 1994.

Founded in July, 2000, the Vietnam stock market was formed to promote Viet-nam's economic stability. Vietnamese state-owned firms in virtually every busi-ness sector have begun to be "equitized" - to have the majority interest of the firm sold to inventors other then the government. This is the stage prior to listing on the exchange. From the initial four firms listed on the exchange, additional firms have been added quarterly.
